PLANNING AND CONSTRUCTION OF PLANT ENGINEERING AND CIVIL WORKS AT THE OLYMPIC TRAINING CENTER BRUNO ZAULI, FORMIA 

 Il paesaggio in cui si inserisce il progetto, di sufficiente pregio ambientale denota un elevato grado di conservazione, l’immediata vicinanza alla costa e la particolarità del paesaggio circostante, ha fatto in modo che il progetto si configurasse attraverso opere puntuali, il cui inserimento interessasse porzioni significativamente limitate e circoscritte del Centro di Preparazione Olimpica.
Per ciò che riguarda le scelte progettuali, queste sono state operate nel rispetto delle peculiarità paesaggistiche e morfologiche del territorio, con particolare riguardo alla salvaguardia e alla valorizzazione della qualità ambientale.

  
The landscape in which the project has been conducted, of sufficient environmental value, denotes a high degree of conservation, the immediate proximity to the coast and the peculiarity of its surroundings. Therefore the project was developed through accurate works, realized in significantly limited and circumscribed areas of the Olympic Training Center. Regarding the planning choices, they were made in accordance with the morphological and landscape peculiarities of the territory and, and with particular care for the preservation and enhancement of environmental quality.

IDEAS COMPETITION FOR THE REGENERATION OF SAN COSIMATO SQUARE IN ROME MENTIONED PROJECT 

Tra gli elementi generatori del progetto, primarie sono state le percorrenze degli spazi in relazione all’intorno ed al quartiere: le percorrenze pedonali, le percorrenze carrabili di attraversamento e di collegamento con le zone commerciali, le soste come momenti di aggregazione e la riqualificazione del Protiro con la relativa accessibilità al giardino ed alla chiesa.
In particolare, la necessità di restituire al Protiro l’originaria accessibilità fisica e visiva, ha determinato il modellamento del terreno prospiciente la costruzione, creando delle curve degradanti tali da mettere in comunione elementi naturali con l’elemento architettonico che risultava essere fortemente mortificato da inferriate e lastre di cristallo.

Among all the elements generating the project, the distances covered in relation to the neighborhood and the surrounding space have been of primary importance: pedestrian distances, crossing and connecting driveways to commercial areas, rest stops seen as gathering moments,and the regeneration of Prothyrum with the accessibility to the garden and the church. In particular, the need to restore the Prothyrum to its original visual and physical accessibility led to the modeling of the ground in front of the building, so to create sloping curves that combine natural elements with the architectural element strongly debased by bars and sheets of glass.

PHYSIOTHERAPY POOL AT THE INSTITUTE OF SPORTS MEDICINE OF C.P.O. G. ONESTI ACQUACETOSA, ROME 

Il nuovo spazio concepito per l’assistenza sanitaria agli atleti, si è arricchita di una vasca idroterapica con modulazione del flusso d’acqua, idromassaggio interno ed esterno alla vasca, massaggi a getto d’acqua specifici per i muscoli affaticati dagli intensi allenamenti e una vasca del ghiaccio per la terapia alternata caldo-freddo.
L’edificio incaricato ad accogliere la vasca idroterapica ha dimensioni planimetriche lorde di circa 285,00 mq, per un’altezza di circa 3,00 metri, in particolare per la vasca idroterapica la cui profondità è di circa 1,95 metri e la vasca del ghiaccio la cui profondità è di circa 1,60 metri.

The new space, designed for athletes’ health care, has been enhanced by a hydrotherapy pool with modulation of the water flow, hydromassage inside and outside the pool, water jet massage specific for muscles strained by intense training, and ice pool for alternating hot and cold therapy. The building that holds the hydrotherapy pool has plan dimensions of about 285 square meters and a height of about 3.00 meters, in particular for the hydrotherapy pool (depth of about 1.95 meters) and the ice pool (depth is about 1.60 meters).

RESIDENTIAL AND OFFICE TOWER, HARBIN 

Si è previsto di progettare e poi realizzare un edificio residenziale a torre alto più di 100 metri, su di un lotto concesso dalle Autorità Cinesi. 

Lotto che però, presenta criticità per le preesistenze configurate. 

Infatti, si presenta incastonato tra edifici nuovi e vecchi e fortemente penalizzato da una strada a scorrimento veloce, soprelevata in curva.

Il problema del clima rigido presente nella cittadina di Harbin durante il  periodo invernale, ha fatto sì di dover escogitare un nuovo concetto di architettura bioclimatica che oltre all’utilizzo di tecnologie avanzate come il termico solare ed il fotovoltaico, quest’ultimo inserito nei pannelli in terracotta per le pareti ventilate si è pensato ad un giardino alto 100 metri «HENGING GARDEN OF BABILON», questi particolari giardini coniugheranno oltre azioni bioclimatiche all’interno della torre anche un azione sociale che ancorerà per la sua cultura il popolo Cinese alla sua terra anche se in verticale.

It was planned to design and then build a residential tower higher than 100 meters, on a plot given by the Chinese authorities. This plot however presents some critical aspects due to its pre-existing configuration.

 In fact, it is placed among old and new buildings and it is heavily penalized by a fast-flowing road, elevated on a bend.

Because the small town of Harbin has a severe climate during the winter months, it was necessary to define a new concept of bioclimatic architecture: in addition to the use of advanced technologies such as solar thermal energy and photovoltaic (the latter used in terracotta panels for ventilated walls), it was thought a garden 100 meters high, “HANGING GARDENS OF BABYLON”. These special gardens combine bioclimatic actions inside the tower with a social action that, for their culture, will bind Chinese people to their land, even if vertically.

Contrariamente ad un edificio per uffici dove l’attività della giornata è pressocchè costante, le strutture congressuali subiscono dei picchi con improvvise ondate di persone in movimento tra una zona e l’altra delle strutture predisposte. Il centro congressi dotato di tre sale, garantisce la separazione delle funzioni e la differenziazione dei percorsi di accesso alle diverse aree della struttura, nonché il contenimento dei rumori dell’area occupata dai partecipanti ai vari congressi.

Unlike an office building where daily activities are practically constant, congress buildings have some peaks with sudden waves of people moving from one area of the structure to another. The congress center has three halls, so ensures the separation of functions, the differentiation of the entrances to the various areas of the structure, but also the control of noise in the area occupied by participants in real congresses.

DEFINITIVE AND EXECUTIVE PLANNING OF THE NEW BUILDING OF MICROSOFT ITALIA S.p.A. IN ROME 

L’idea originaria, non è nata solo in relazione ad una tipologia per uffici, ma dalla concezione dell’office automation, attività primaria della Microsoft.

In questa ottica si sono sviluppati i primi schizzi su cui poi si è costruita la soluzione architettonica che ne contraddistingue i caratteri morfologici. Fortemente persuasi dalla forma sinuosa dell’elegante logo della Microsoft, e, dopo aver analizzato gli aspetti tecnici-funzionali, siamo giunti alla consapevolezza che la soluzione funzionale e distributiva delle parti componenti l’edificio ci suggeriva la scelta tipologica di un fabbricato in linea che abbiamo voluto armonizzare in base alle linee eleganti del logo. Elemento determinante per la realizzazione dell’opera è stato il connubio tra cotto e vetro, tra pieno e vuoto, evocatori del Periodo Rosa e del Periodo blu di Picasso.

The original idea wasn’t developed only in relation to a typology for office building, but also considering the concept of office automation, Microsoft’s core business. In this context we developed the first sketches on which we built the architectural solution that distinguishes the morphological features. Strongly persuaded by the sinuous shape of the elegant Microsoft logo and, after analyzing all the technical and functional aspects, we realized that the distributional and functional solution of the components suggested the choice of a linear building that we wanted to harmonize according to the elegant lines of the logo. A decisive factor for the realization of the work was the combination of terracotta and glass, solid and void, evocative of Picasso’s Blue and Rose Periods.
